Below you will find helpful information to help you access and navigate through the OCEAN continuing education for nurses online learning system. Please read through the information if you are having difficulties or have questions. If you do not find the information you need, you can always contact us at OCEAN@oregonrn.org.

User Account Information

OCEAN continuing education for nurses is available for all nurses in the state of Oregon and beyond.
  • If you are a member of the Oregon Nurses Association, the largest professional nursing organization in the state, you have free or reduced cost access to the courses in OCEAN by logging in using your ONA website login information.
  • If you are not a member of ONA but fall into the following categories, you will also use your ONA website login information, but you will be charged non-member pricing and will not have access to ONA member only content.
    • Non-member who is currently working within an ONA-represented bargaining unit (for example, a fair share payer)
    • Non-member who previously worked within an ONA-represented bargaining unit
    • Former ONA member who is not currently an active member
  • If you have no affiliation with ONA, you will need to create an account directly through the OCEAN website.
  • NPO Members: If you are a member of the Nurse Practitioners of Oregon, you are also a member of ONA and therefore will use your ONA website login information to access the system. Please note that this is not the same login information that you would use to access the NPO website. Your username for both is your email address, but the passwords are separate and must be set individually.
When accessing the site through your ONA login information, remember that your username is the email address on record with ONA. If you do not have an email on file or need to update your email address, please contact us at OCEAN@oregonrn.org.

My Dashboard Features

  • Search the site by typing in one or more keywords
  • Browse all of the available course by clicking on the "Course Catalog" tab
  • Quick Links features links to key areas and valuable resources
  • Recommended Courses allows you to set preferences so you see the courses that are of interest to you

My Learning Page Features

  • Courses tab lists the courses in which you are currently enrolled. Use it to track your progress, the amount of time you've spent in a course, your grade (if applicable), the date you purchased the item, and the date it expires.
  • Completed tab lists the courses you have completed. Use it to see when you completed the course and how much CE you received for the course. You can download the course transcript and the CE Certificate of Successful Completion.
  • CE Credit displays the number of continuing education credits earned. You can also add CE from other educational activities you received elsewhere, allowing you to track all of your CE in one convenient location.

Navigation Features

  • View Details includes the description and key words for each course.
  • Launch the course. If you've already started it, you may resume from where you left off or restart from the beginning.
